Club Training Sessions and Competitions During Covid-19
Updated 18.07.2021
From Monday July 19 all remaining restrictions relating to gathering no longer apply. This means there will be no limits on the numbers who can meet at any of our training sessions or any event we organise. We’re very much looking forward to seeing you.
While there are no specific rules relating to training or competition, instead with an emphasis on personal responsibility for reducing risk, it’s important to highlight this point from England Athletics: “individuals should not turn up to an athletics or running environment (club, coached or competition) if displaying symptoms of COVID-19.” You can read more from EA here. Additionally, while we are not placing any requirements on our activity (which is all held outdoors), venues we use socially may take a different approach and it’s essential we respect their wishes.
While for many we’ve reached the point they’ve been looking forward to for more than a year, we also know many people are nervous about the changes. Members of the Stragglers have been brilliant at supporting one another through the pandemic and we’re confident this will continue.
Finally we’d like to thank everyone who has worked to keep club activity going over the last sixteen months and thank you, our members, for supporting what we do.
