Eliza says “I have people who will be supporting at Teddington Gate for the duration where all legs of the relay will start/finish, people can leave clothing here and there will also be hot refreshments! I'll have people on bikes for each leg if required - we won't leave people to run in the dark solo! I've planned different routes to suit the distances people think they can run in an hour (5, 6, 7, 8+ miles) and both well-lit street and park options. Would love any Stragglers to pop by at any time to say hi / support.”
A member organisation of FORK is the Vineyards Community in Richmond, who the Stragglers nominated as our chosen charity for this year’s Wedding Day, which became the Secret 7K.
Feed Our Richmond Kids aims to raise money to fund meals for children who usually receive free school meals. At present there is no government funding in place to cover the under-5s over the Christmas holidays, as there was during the summer. A significant donation has come from the Marcus Rashford Foundation, with a shortfall of £20,000 (hence the 20 hours!) FORK has been fundraising since the beginning of November and has so far raised an additional £8,400 at time of writing.
