The Stragglers were extremely sad to hear of the untimely death of one of our members, Simon Shanks.
Simon was a committed and determined runner and was due to run the London Marathon – his sixth marathon and first in London, so this news has come as a real shock.
We send our deepest condolences to Simon’s family, friends and loved ones.

Simon was running the London Marathon for The Purple Elephant Project. They ‘provide support for children and their families affected by attachment, developmental trauma or life experiences. Through specialist therapeutic services such as Play Therapy, we work to transform lives; enabling children to reach their full potential and a brighter future.’
