Grand Prix update: one race to go
Posted by Helen Davies on 30 July 2018
The Stragglers Summer Grand Prix has now completed 10 out of 11 races of a red hot competition (in more ways than one!). With one match to go, the Wimbledon 5K Dash how is the Leader board looking?
For the Ladies: Senior Lady Heidi Russenberger on 134 points looks like she will be the uncontested winner of that category. For the F35s Sarah Winter has a commanding lead of 140 points with Juliana Greenwood currently runner up in that category with 115 points. In the F45 category its Helen Davies on 138 points with Brigid Hibberd on 91 points in runner up position looking to consolidate her position at the Wimbledon 5K dash. The F55 competition is super competitive, with Liz Killip currently leading on 136 points with Phyllis Flynn sitting in second place on 127 points. Lastly Sally Boulton is in pole position on 79 points for the F65s. In the age grading competition Liz Killip is currently leading the way with a 90% + age grading from Crane Parkrun. The hero award looks like it will go to Ramona Thevenet.
For the men. The Senior man and overall leader board has been particularly competitive with a mere 5 points separating the top 3. Long time leader Richard Baggott was knocked off his perch by Jim Lurkins after Elmore, who in turn was leap frogged by Rob Wilcox following Fridays action at Wedding Day. 1 point separates these 2 going into the final fixture with Richard looking to sew up the hero award. For the M40’s Donovan Duffy on 130 points looks in a good position to win that category with Aaron Israel on 117 points currently M40 runner up. Roy Reeder on 131 points and Malcolm Davies on 118 points look to have done enough to get first and second in the M50 competition. In the M60 category David Brewin and Andrew Allen are currently in first and second place for that award. The age grading leader is currently Roy Reeder also from his Crane Parkrun.
The last chance to change all this is the Wimbledon 5K Dash on Sunday 12th August click here to enter:
