Virtual Santa Fun Run
Posted by Emily Eastwood on 9 December 2020
Princess Alice Hopsice's annual Santa Fun Runs have been taking place for over a decade and are now a firm fixture on the Princess Alice Hospice fundraising calendar. Each year they see a sea of festive runners assembling together at Bushy Park and Richmond Park, and more recently at Painshill Park too. However, as much as we would have loved to haveseen you all this year dressed up in your Santa suits or elf hats at one of these locations, the pandemic has unfortunately meant that we cannot meet up in person. Due to this they've had to take a different approach and gone virtual this year! With their Virtual Santa Fun Run, you can take part by completing:
* A run
* A paddleboard
* A kayak
* Throwing a ball for 5k
* A relay
Where?
Do it whenever you want to, wherever you want to – this year we can go global as long as you are keeping to government guidelines – the world is your oyster!
Whenever you like! What about a Boxing Day gathering?
What do I wear?
Dress up if you want to! – choose your own fancy dress or Princess Alice Hospice can provide you with Santa suits (£3 per suit) or reindeer antlers (£2 per antler).
They urgently need your help to be there for families this Christmas! It costs £10.1 million each year to provide our free, high-quality care. But with all their charity shops closing again this month, they are facing the genuine possibility of now losing more than 25% of their vital fundraising and retail income. This will have a devastating impact on the support we can offer local families.
Therefore, they are relying on wonderful supporters like you to help us generate much needed funds by signing up and participating in events such as the Virtual Santa Fun Run.
Registration fee:
Adults (16 and over): £7
Children (5-15): £5
Under 5s: FREE
They recommend all participants to raise £50 however a collective effort from The Stragglers would be great.

By taking part and raising or donating as much as possible you will truly be helping us fund our Christmas care again this year. Just £66 in sponsorship or donation would enable one of our nurses to visit a patient, helping them to spend a very precious Christmas at home.
