Winter Grand Prix Category Winners

Last weekend’s 5k handicap saw the conclusion of the Winter Grand Prix series.
While the format has been different the competitiveness just as strong. Over the series we’ve seen the emergence of many Stragglers who have trained well throughout the various lockdowns and we’re really looking forward to seeing how this translates to performances as races resume.
At the top of the ladies table three competitors from three age categories were separated by three points. Sophie Biggs securing the maximum 140 points from the 6 events she completed. Lisa Baily 1 point behind on 139 and Eliza Hawthorn on 137 (both completed 7 events).
The category winners are:
Overall and F45: Sophie BiggS
SL: Eliza Hawthorn
F35: Lisa Bailey
F55: Jacky Balfour
F65: Sally Boulton
The top two in the Men’s competition were divided by just one point, with Rob Eveson topping the table on 139 ahead of Pete Gregorowski on 138.

The Summer Grand Prix will begin with the April 5k handicap from Thursday 29th April to Sunday 2nd May and, all being well, will be made up of pod, virtual and in-person races.
