Winter Grand Prix Fixtures: January to March
Posted by Simon Webb on 10 January 2021
We can announce five further fixtures which have been added to our Winter Grand Prix.
Lockdown restrictions mean we’re unable to hold pod races, nor will any cross-country events be part of the series this year.
However we’re keen to encourage you to keep active and competitive virtually and distances offered range from 1 mile to half marathon. There are also three monthly 5k handicaps, but with a slight twist.
The new events are:
Dream Mile - Saturday 16 January - Sunday 24 January.
January 5k Handicap - Thursday - 28 January - Sunday 31 January.
10K- Saturday 6 February - Sunday 14 February. At present we understand 26.2 plan to reschedule their 10k for later in the year.
February 5k Handicap - Thursday 25 February - Sunday 28 February
Half Marathon - Saturday 6 March - Sunday 14 March.
March 5k Handicap and Winter Grand Prix Finale - Thursday 25 March - Sunday 28 March (British Summer Time begins).
Complete each distance on a course of your choice and submit your time via our online-form. Times will also be added to our 2021 club ladder. You'll see we've allowed four days for each 5k handicap. This is to encourage as many members as possible to take part at this time when we are unable to meet, train and compete together.
The four fixtures that have already taken place in this season’s Winter Grand Prix are the November handicap, December pod races, Cabbage Patch 4 and Tadworth 10. You can find results and a WGP league table here.
